Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 – Consistently Delivers Quality Show in Myanmar

Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 took place for its 5th successful edition, 6th to 8th June at MEP at Mindama, Yangonand delivering both high quality and quantity for local and regional trade buyers. Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 is Myanmar’s Largest Food & Hospitality Trade Exhibition.

Tourism is a key factor of Myanmar’s forecast growth, as the country unabating development in its airports, travel infrastructure and hotels in order to accommodate an ever-increasing demand from international arrivals. As a result, Myanmar gained more international flavors and of course, a huge injection of outside investment.

Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 is a premium international food & hospitality industry trade event in Myanmar for Myanmar. The event presented 184 participants from 29 countries including 6 international pavilions from Koreax2, Philippines, Singapore, Turkey, and the USA on 4,750 sqm of event space.

In terms of visitors, Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 delivered 7,031 quality trade buyers from 33 countries;96.03% coming from Myanmar and 3.97% attending from overseas. The top 5 attending overseas countries were Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Koreaand China.

Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 showcased more events than ever before including the Myanmar Culinary Arts Competition (MCAC), which is organised exclusively at Food & Hotel Myanmar, taking place for its 5th successful edition with 360 competing chefs across the 3 days competition, which is the only official culinary arts competition in the country. Industry events also included the 5th Myanmar National Barista Championship (MNBC) 2018, the only internationally recognised coffee competition in Myanmar. In addition, The 5th FoSTAM Food Safety Seminar & Quiz Bowl, Introduction to Latte Art by Sithar Coffee, and Product Knowledge & Butchery Masterclass for Foodservice and Retail by Meat & Livestock Australia. All the industry events ran together with Food & Hotel Myanmar received excellent attendance and response from the industry.

Food & Hotel Myanmar still remains the most strongly supported industry trade event in Myanmar with official support from Ministry of Hotels & Tourism, Myanmar Hotelier Association, Myanmar Restaurant Association, Myanmar Chefs’ Association, Myanmar Retailers Association, Myanmar Food Processors and Exporters Association, Food Science and Technology Association (Myanmar), Barista Association of Myanmar, Myanmar Coffee Association, World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and World Chefs Without Boarders (WCWB).
