Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 Returns for 5th Year

Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018, Myanmar’s largest international exhibition for food and hospitality products, is returning for its fifth year with the same commitment to global innovations, technologies and products. Several activities to promote Burmese tourism, food and hospitality sectors have also played a role in gaining interest from over 200 industry players worldwide. UBM Myanmar expects more than 7,500 visitors to attend this year’s exhibition.

Mr. Fraser Hawkes, general manager of UBM Myanmar, noted that Myanmar’s tourism industry is showing promise with 3.5 million tourists visiting the country last year. Tourists from China and Southeast Asia made up 68% of total visitors, followed by Europeans and Americans at 19% and 7%, respectively. As a result, hospitality, restaurant, service and other tourist-centered businesses have seen continuous growth in recent years.

Increased tourism has also led to the development of Myanmar’s 1,575 hotels (with a total 63,336 rooms), and brought food and hospitality entrepreneurs from around the world to explore this emerging market through the Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 exhibition platform. Foreign businesses and entrepreneurs in the tourism, hospitality and food sectors see this exhibition as a great outlet for finding customers and building relationships with potential partners and sales agents.

The fifth edition of Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 present more than 200 leading suppliers and manufacturers from 20 countries will showcase their latest products and services. In addition, there are also 4 international pavilions from Korea, Singapore, Turkey, and USA which this year’s 7,500 visitors can explore.

5th Myanmar Culinary Arts Competition (MCAC) 2018

Co-organised by the Myanmar Chefs Association (MCA) and UBM Myanmar is Myanmar’s best international culinary arts competition and supported by World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and World Chefs Without Boarders (WCWB). The competition gives chefs and foodservice professionals the opportunity to learn and develop new international standard skills and experiences to better themselves and their industry. The 3-day competition takes place at Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 from 6th to 8th June.

5th Myanmar National Barista Championship (MNBC) 2018

Co-organised by Element Coffee Consulting & Machine Supplies and UBM Myanmar and supported by Barista Association of Myanmar (BAM) and Myanmar Coffee Association. The only official Barista Championship in Myanmar. The MNBC 2018 is for barista’s and coffee professionals who want to develop their skills and experience. The 3-day competition takes place at Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 from 6th to 8th June.

5th FoSTAM Food Safety Seminar & Quiz Bowl

Co-organised by The Food Science & Technology Association (Myanmar) and UBM Myanmar provides knowledge and networking opportunities for food, hospitality and food science professionals, which establish and develop industry health, safety and hygiene standards and best practices. The seminar will take place at Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 on 6th and 7th June.

Introduction to Latte Art by Sithar

Organised by Sithar Coffee provides knowledge and information of coffee, how to create the Latte Art, Coffee Cupping and rule & regulation in World latte art championship. The seminar will take place at Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 on 6th to 8th June.

Butchery Master Class

Organised by Meat & Livestock Australia, exclusive training from a World Class Trainer, with participants receiving certificates after completion of the workshop. The training will take place at Food & Hotel Myanmar 2018 on 7th June.
