The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) predicts that Myanmar will be one of the top performing countries in average annual growth terms from now and before 2025. Due to rapidly expanding GDP rate, the rise in income earned from the Myanmar tourism sector and long-term infrastructure and human resource developments. Myanmar’s young tourism sector is a key sector and expected to host 7.49 million tourists in 2020, but in order to grow at the expected growth rates great efforts are required to develop and expand Myanmar’s underdeveloped but hugely promising industry.

"Tourism in Myanmar is up and coming, which will drive our country and our people’s advancement forward. Demand for food and hospitality products, services and education are rapidly increasing in parallel with demand from tourism, our own emerging middle class and young population. Food & Hotel Myanmar is Myanmar’s leading event, which supports and contributes significantly to the growth of our industry." Said H.E. U Ohn Maung, Union Minister, Ministry of Hotels & Tourism.
